Like most martial arts, Tae Kwon Do is a path of good health, self-defense, self-discipline, and self-improvement. Tae Kwon Do also promotes good citizenship. Tae Kwon Do is practiced in a "family" atmosphere. Senior members are expected to take the initiative to advise and instruct less-experienced students. Tae Kwon Do is widely recognized for it's emhasis on flying kicks. When kicking, proper posture, set up, and technique are fundamental.

Tae Kwon Do is intended for self-defense. Training helps improve muscle-tone, flexibility, and endurance. Stress-relief is another benefit of training.

Tae Kwon Do class at Kim School will become a ritual for the student. The Do Jang will become a place to reflect on life. Instructors often take a minute to teach a short lesson. The ritual of training will help the student understand the world around him or her.
